Officine Montorfano have thirty five years of experience in the manufacture of: Levelling Rolls, Straightening Rolls and Intermediate Rolls for the hot or cold processing of sheet metal of all types, and with any mechanical characteristics.The machine tools used are all numerically controlled, and capable of producing rolls with diameters between 20 and 1600 millimetres, and weighing up to 20 tons. We are able to recommend the most appropriate steel alloys for each application. During the design and construction phase, we pay particular attention to the surface finishing process, which can range from standard grinding to polished superfinishing, from sandblasting to special shapes, as well as chromium, chromium carbide and titanium nitride surfacing.
Officine Montorfano manufactures a vast range of Supporter rolls with characteristics specifically optimised for flattening machines, and which are thus able to ensure optimal performance even in critical work environments, where there is presence of dust, moisture and calamine. During the design and fabrication stages, Officine Montorfano carefully takes into account the frequent problem of non uniform plate thickness, which causes abrupt load changes on the Supporter rolls. These particular working conditions require careful evaluation of the sizing and protection of the rotating part, so as to obtain a load distribution that is as uniform as possible.

Officine Montorfano is equipped with a highly specialised department for the construction of eccentric shafts and hydraulic pistons for use in forming application. The eccentric shafts for presses, shearing machines and pumps are constructed using forged steel, and all the mechanical operations up until the final grinding are performed internally by highly specialised personnel.
Officine Montorfano manufactures hydraulic pistons for presses with diameters up to 1600 millimetres and weights up to 20 tons. As a function of the application, the pistons are subjected to final surface treatments such as induction hardening, chromium surfacing, polishing and superfinishing.
Officine Montorfano produce high technology slitter shafts and roll shafts using state-of-the-art numerical control machine tools, which make it possible to obtain geometrical tolerances between 0.002 and 0.004 millimetres. The shafts are constructed from forged steel in order to guarantee optimal quality and perfect dimensional stability.
